Designer Shirt Donation Drive

Breast Cancer Survivor

Do you ever wonder what a Breast Cancer Survivor has to deal with post treatment, Lumpectomy or Mastectomy?

I can definitely say I do.

After having had multiple lumpectomies that ultimately lead to a double mastectomy, followed by immediate breast reconstruction, I quickly realized that my fight would continue through recovery. The struggle was definitely real.

On February 6, 2015, I made the decision to help those recovering post-op by aiding them in making their experience a bit more manageable. In my recovery, I realized that something as simple as an oversized, button down blouse can make a world of difference for the woman who is trying to take care of herself, dress herself and manage the tubes still attached to her body.

And so began my Designer Shirt Donation Drive.

In an effort to help me in my journey to assist those in recovery, I ask that you go through your closets and donate shirts and/or blouses that you no longer wear.

I kindly ask that the shirts donated meet the following requirements:

  • New or slightly used, clean shirts.
  • Oversized for comfort
  • Button-down, zip up, easy to take on and off.
  • Long sleeve or short sleeve.
  • Natural Fabrics with breathability.

I will be personally delivering these blouses and will be sewing a customized pocket to hold the survivors surgical drains

Thank you again for your time and for helping me, help others.
